2011 Half Ton Cup – Day 4

Good morning from day 4 of the 2011 Half Ton Classic Cup supported by South Boats in Cowes.  After yesterday’s lovely sunshine and wind I regret to say that right now (08.50) we have leaden skies, rain and very little wind.  Race Officer Rob Lamb and the Royal Corinthian Team are just about to head out to the race course to take a look at conditions.  From the club it doesn’t look very promising as the flags are hanging vertically and we can’t even see the mainland.

Stand by for an update shortly

2011 Half Ton Classic Cup – Chimp Extends Lead On Day 3

The full results are now posted at www.rcyc.co.uk

In the overall standings Michael Kershaw’s Chimp had another really consistent day with a 4, 2, 2 score and has extended her lead to 11 points from Philippe Pilate’s General Tapioca, whose 1,  3,  3 results pulled them back up the leader board to sit second with 29 points.  Tim & David Cunliffe’s Insatiable now lies third counting 40 points and Francois Michelin’s Chani is fourth on 48.5 points, just half a point ahead of Robbie Tergear’s Per Elisa.

We understand that there are a number of teams planning to protest over mark rounding incidents so there may be some changes to these results later.

2011 Half Ton Classic Cup – Day 3 – We’re Heading For The Race Course

Good morning from day 3 of the 2011 Half Ton Classic Cup supported by South Boats. The great news is that the sun is shining and Race Officer Rob Lamb has just radioed the competitors to let them know that the Committee Boats are heading out to the race area on Hill Head Plateau and that they currently have 7-8 knots of wind and anticipate starting on time at 10.30.

We’ll be heading out to the race course with our cameras shortly and will update you when ever we can.

I’d just like to take the opportunity to say a very big thank you to our Press Boat driver and provider Carol Ricks who has been doing a great job of looking after me. She went above and beyond the call of duty yesterday by getting the car out and driving me round the Island to follow the boats when it became clear that trying to go by RIB wasn’t practical in the weather conditions. Many thanks Carol!

2011 Half Ton Classic Cup Soutenu Près South Boats – Communiqué De Presse Deuxième Jour

Chani Prend Le Fil Après Le Tour De l’île de Wight De 2011 Half Ton Classic Cup Soutenu Près South Boats

Half Ton Cup Day 2
