Good morning from a beautifully sunny Falmouth where the Half Ton Fleet is raring to go for the opening day of the Henri Lloyd Half Ton Classics Cup 2016. Today’s racing is sponsored by Euro Car Parks and RAM Gaskets and we’re expecting a practise race starting at 10.30, followed by the first two windward leeward races of the series.
At the morning briefing Regatta Chair David Owens and Race Officer Jack Penty confirmed that the weather forecast for today and tomorrow is excellent with warm sunshine and good winds of around force five, so they intend to run the coastal race tomorrow.
This evening the competitors will be catching the ferry to Flushing Sailing Club, our hosts for the week, for a Cornish Pastie supper and some legendary Cornish hospitality.
We’ll bring you regular updates from the regatta here on the blog and you can also check out event details at the event website www.halftonclass.co.uk
