We are awaiting the official results but we believe that David Cullen’s Checkmate XV has won the Half Ton Classics Cup 2015 with a race to spare and that Paul Pullen’s Miss Whiplash is second with Robbie Tregear’s Per Elisa third.

The regatta closed with two light airs but incredibly exciting races, the first a windward leeward and the second a coastal round the cans course.  Checkmate’s priority in the opener was to keep Miss Whiplash away from the top of the fleet and this they successfully achieved, enabling them to win the regatta with a race to spare.  As Checkmate headed for the dock, the final race saw the battle for second come to a fantastic conclusion and although Per Elisa gave it their all they could not quite get the better of Miss Whiplash.

Formal results to confirm things coming later but in the meantime huge congratulations to our champions David Cullen, Gary Cullen, James Hynes, John Murphy, Aidan Beggan, Andy George, Mark Pettitt and of course Checkmate XV.
